A Band Of Buriers are an English alternative folk band led by James P Honey – an accomplished singer and poet – who blend folk and spoken word elements together. Their melodic blend of guitar, cello and violin, combined with a beautiful female backing choir compliments the abstract and imaginative poetry of their lyrics, resulting in grand songs fractured with a fragile beauty.
The new A Band Of Buriers album, entitled Filth, was released in July 2012 and is available to buy from the store as well as all good online shops (and some of the charlatan ones as well).
‘Filth is raw, vital… real.‘ Clash
‘The lyrical prowess and swell of sinister cello drones and hymnal choirs make ‘Filth’ a solemn and poetic debut.‘ The Fly
‘A Band Of Buriers concoct a curious, bewitching broth which moans with mournful strings and minor-chord guitars. what’s so outstanding about their music is James P Honey’s vocal delivery: steeped in ‘alternative-rap’ culture and with a firm belief in blending genres.‘ Rough Trade
‘Like a modern-day Leonard Cohen.‘ Volume Magazine![]()
